Thread peeling differs from thread whirling especially in terms of the employed machine technology. The high rigidity and damping of the machine bed and the solid peeling head in conjunction with sliding guides allow both hard and soft materials to be peeled with high precision. This machine concept also allows dry machining of even the latest materials.
This method can therefore also be used for producing ball screws from raw materials that have already been hardened.
