Segment scraper

Unlike simple wipers, a segmented wiper consists of several small segments arranged in a ring shape to form a closed ring. Each segment makes elastic contact with the spindle surface and conforms to the thread contour. Because it is divided into segments, the wiper can better conform to the thread flanks, ensuring that even deeper areas are reliably cleaned.

Thanks to their high sealing effectiveness, these types of scrapers remove both coarse chips and finer particles. The individual segments ensure that the scraper conforms precisely to the spindle surface and the threads. Another advantage of this design is ease of maintenance, as individual segments can be easily replaced depending on the model. Additionally, the segmented scraper can be used even under high loads and in harsh environments.

Applications

  • Machine tools subject to high chip loads (e.g., lathes or milling machines)
  • Applications involving coolant or oil
  • Heavy-duty and precision machines that require a long service life for the ball screw
