Robust despite dust

Thread drives in woodworking

Screw drives for woodworking machines must operate with precision while withstanding fine wood dust, chips, and high speeds. Kammerer supplies dust-resistant ball and trapezoidal screw drives for CNC centers and traditional woodworking machines.

The Challenge: Dust

Wood dust accumulates in the threads, binds with lubricant, and increases wear. It is therefore crucial to have a spindle surface to which dust adheres and a seal that keeps the entire thread profile clean.

Our solution: swirled and well-sealed

  • Whirled spindles: The thread-whirling process leaves no grinding grooves in the thread root and no rolling seam on the outer diameter. Dust has little chance of accumulating, making cleaning easier.
  • Specially developed plastic scrapers with a sealing lip reliably clean the entire thread profile
  • High dynamic performance and low energy consumption for fast CNC axes
  • Customized to the application and batch size

For positioning axes designed to hold a load without a brake, trapezoidal threads are the robust, self-locking alternative.

Typical Applications

  • CNC Machining Centers for Wood and Composite Materials
  • Panel Cutting and Edge Banding Machines
  • Drilling and Milling Units
  • Adjustment and Positioning Axes
